Why I Choose this Quote?

I love this quote. It speaks of spiritual self-reliance. Joseph Smith was a great prophet to whom the Lord revealed marvelous things, and there is nothing God revealed to Joseph that he won’t also reveal to me as soon as I’m ready. What a wonderful thought. What a humbling thought. I need to better prepare myself to be able to bear all that the Lord wants to reveal to me.

Additional Context

Joseph made these comments while talking about what Willard Richards labeled “The Doctrine of Election” or what we might call today having your calling and election made sure or being sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise. Joseph Smith had just quoted Ephesians 1:13-14 where St. Paul talks about the Saints of his day being sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise.
